Each year, the 8th graders go on a trip to Puerto Rico for a week as the culmination of their language-immersion. For some FLA kids, this is literally the trip of a lifetime (first time on a plane & the furthest they'll ever get from home). The kids do an insane amount of fundraising to earn the ~$2500 they need for the trip. Much of that counts on the generosity of their own friends & family as they sell chocolate, raffle tickets and snacks at school events.

This week, we learned that we've got 2 students whose friend & family network is very limited. One lives with her grandmother and has no other family to ask for help. They have used up all available contacts and are still about $2000 short each. I hate the idea of them being left behind because they lack the support system that lucky people like me are born into. I am taking up their cause.

All donations are tax-deductible and would go directly towards their trip. I will personally make sure you get a receipt for the donation. It would mean the world to these two 8th grade kids.
